Muktsar

Mukatsar, Visit Mukatsar of Punjab, Temple tour of Mukatsar, Religious place of PunjabMuktsar the city of Gurudwaras is 50 km. away from Bathinda is recognized as 'Guru Ki Daab'. The place is famous for the last battle fought by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, in which the group of 40 warriors helped Guru Ji and died who left them in Anandpur Sahib by writing 'Bedawa'.

Muktsar is situated at a distance of 45km from Faridkot. Muktsar has many attractions including Sikh shrines and a number of Gurudwaras such as Rikab Ganj, Datan Sahib, and Dukhbhajan Sahib etc. Most of these remind us of the incidents from the life of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Muktsar is also known for the Maghi Festival and Punjabi Jutti.

Tuti Gandhi Sahib Gurudwara of Muktsar was built in honor of 40 soldiers of Majha who died while fighting graciously for him. These soldiers had abandoned Guru Gobind Singh during the blockade of Anandpur Sahib, but soon rejoined the Guru's army after being looked down upon by their women. It is said that the Guru kissed all dead and the dying and absolved them. The daily prayers of the Sikhs include references to this incident. Guru Gobind Singh ji used Gurudwara Tibbi Sahib Place to shoot arrows at the enemies while fighting with Moguls. It was here that the Guru rested his sleepy limbs for a while.

Guru Ji tore 'Bedawa' at this place on their demand and blessed them with 'Mukti' (Mokush). So the place is called 'Mukatsar'.The famous 'Maghi' Mela is held on 'Magh Sakranti' (desi month) which go down in the month of January.
