Lord Balarama is the 7th son of Devaki
Vasudeva but he is well known as the elder brother of Lord Krishna. According to
Hinduism and mainly in Vaishnava traditions Balarama is known as the
manifestations of Shesha, the godly serpent on whom Vishnu rests. Balarama is
the first bodily expansion of Lord Krishna who does the work of establishment in
four other forms as Vasudeva, Sankarshana, Pradyumna and Anirudha. Lord Balarama
is the ceaseless companion of Lord Krishna. They came as Lakshmana with Rama and
as Nityananda Prabhu with Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Lord Balaram is the Supreme Personality and
second body of Lord Krishna. Worshipper of the Lord Balarama Idols gets eternal
truth and knowledge which makes them to find spiritual progress in mercy of Lord
Balarama. Lord Balarama is also worshiped as the 'adiguru' or Supreme Teacher.
