Parvati is considered as the power and heavenly second consort of Lord Shiva
(the Destroyer and rejuvenation) and the divine mother of Lord Ganesha
and Lord Murugan (Lord Kartieya). Being the consort of Lord Shiva,
Goddess Parvati is said to have both gentle and terrible characteristic. Some of
the people also believe to be the sister of god Vishnu and Shaktas, which
believe her as the decisive Divine Shakti (the incarnation of the total energy
in the universe). The word Parvati is taken from Sanskrit word which means "mountain".
She was the daughter of Himalayas, lord of the mountains and the apsara Meena.
Goddess Parvati is well known by many different names as Lalita, Uma,
Kali, Durga, Haimavati etc. Durga (Goddess beyond reach)
Kali (Goddess of Destruction) are their two violent and powerful
forms. Being the mother of universe, Parvati is known as Amba and Ambika, which
stands for 'mother'. As Lalita, she symbolizes the aspect of beauty. When
Goddess Parvati portray with lord Shiva then appears with two arms, but when
alone, she showing her four arms, and across a tiger or lion.
Ten Aspects of goddess Parvati:
Here are the ten aspects of goddess Parvati which termed as
Dasamahavidyas and all these represents transcendent knowledge and power.
Kali: this is the first aspect and shows
goddess of time that destroys everything.
Tara is the second aspect, the power of golden origin from
which the universe evolves. She also stands for negated or the endless space.
this is the third one, and is the representation of richness
symbolize the forces of material world.
this stands for desires and attraction leading to destruction and death.
this is continual state of self-sustenance of the created world in which
continuous self-destruction and self-renewal are in a cyclic order. She is
mostly a naked deity holding her own disengaged head in hand and drinking her
it characterize the devastation of the world by fire, when
only smoke (dhuma) from its ashes remains.
it is a crane-headed goddess who represents the unattractive side of living
creatures like jealously, hatred and cruelty.

Kamala is the pure awareness of the self, bestowing boons and dispel the fears
of the supplicants. She is identified with Lakshmi, the Goddess of Fortune.
