According to Hindu mythology Ashwini Kumaras
are twins Gods which is born as an effect of Sanjna (Lord Surya's wife) and
Surya (the sun) living being together. In Sanskrit word 'ashwini' stands for
horsewoman and the word 'kumara' indicate eternal early life. The myth behind
name of him is that at the time of impregnation Sanjna (Lord Surya's wife) had
imagined shape of a horse. Due to this lunar constellation, is called horse
woman. The "Ashwini" Nakshatra has been named on Ashwini kumara. Ashwini kumara
are represented as twins with the head of a horse, and a human body. These twins
are related to healing and everlasting youth.
According to the Rig-Veda, Ashwini kumara are
the Lords of Speed, "the swift movers, the falcons of light, riders of the task
force horse, responsive and brilliant". Lord Ashwini Kumaras are observing as
the embodiments of knowledge and speed. Ashwini Kumaras also symbolize the
momentary moments among night and morning, and indication sunrise (knowledge).
